Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup fat-free milk
- 1 cup uncooked quick-cooking grits
- 2 teaspoons low-sodium Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese
Preparation
- Combine water and milk in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Stir in grits and next 4 ingredients. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 5 to 7 minutes or until creamy, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in cheese. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat until cheese melts and grits are thickened, stirring often.
