- 1 (16-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, pressed
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
How to Make It
Cook first 4 ingredients and, if desired, crushed red pepper in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until reduced to 1 1/4 cups (about 10 minutes). Stir in basil.
