White Pound Cake

Normally half the recipe. Do not halve the vanilla or almond. Use either all shortening OR use a combination of butter and shortening ( I normally make it using a combination of butter and shortening) This cake is versatile, one time I added a cinnamon swirl and it was good.

Ingredients

  • 3 cup(s) sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup(s) milk
  • 3 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 3 cup(s) flour
  • 1 1/2 cup(s) shortening OR
  • 2 stick(s) butter and
  • 1/2 cup(s) shortening
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon(s) almond

Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients together and beat at high speed for 5 1/2 minutes. Put in floured and greased pan at 325* for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Use a bundt type pan.
  2. Beating the ingredients together for 5 1/2 minutes is the key to making this cake delicious.
