- 8 medium turnips
- 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 cups soft breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
How to Make It
Peel turnips; cut into 1-inch cubes.
Arrange turnips in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam 25 minutes or until tender.
Mash turnips with a potato masher; stir in eggs and remaining ingredients. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 11- x 7-inch baking dish.
Bake mixture at 375° for 1 hour.
