Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups 1% low-fat milk
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon instant espresso granules
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 ounce bittersweet chocolate
- 1 teaspoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation
- 1. Combine sugar and egg in a medium bowl; stir with a whisk. Add milk and next 4 ingredients (through salt); stir to combine. Transfer milk mixture to a medium saucepan; cook over medium heat 14 minutes or until thick and bubbly, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate, butter, and vanilla. Cool 10 minutes before serving.
