Waffles with Fruit and Yogurt

Fresh fruit and yogurt transform ordinary frozen waffles into a special breakfast that's quick to prepare. For fun, your kids can create funny faces on the waffles with the yogurt and fruit toppings.


4 servings (serving size: 1 waffle, 3/4 cup fruit, 1/2 cup yogurt mixture, and 1/2 teaspoon wheat germ)

1 cup sliced strawberries
1 cup blueberries
1 cup raspberries
1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups creamy vanilla low-fat yogurt
2 tablespoons honey
4 whole-grain frozen waffles
2 teaspoons toasted wheat germ


1. Combine first 4 ingredients; let stand 20 minutes or overnight.

2. Spoon yogurt into a bowl; stir in honey.

3. Toast waffles according to package directions. Place 1 waffle on each of 4 plates. Top waffles evenly with fruit, yogurt mixture, and wheat germ. Serve immediately.
