    Good make-ahead dish. Next time I will add the oregano and saute it with the veggies to up the flavor. I also will add more salt and pepper.. I'm going to try all of the strata recipes and see which one is the best. This is the first time I tried a strata and I think its great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

    This didn't do it for me. I thought it was bland, even with the addition of extra cheese and salt. It was also too dry for my tastes. If I did it again, I'd use less bread. But I probably won't do it again. It was a waste of a lot of good vegetables.

    My family loved this, although with a salad the three of us (admitedly including 2 large men) ate the whole thing, so if you have more people to feed, make lots of side dishes. I followed the recipe exactly except to use fresh spinach instead of squash, more basil and oregano, and part-skim ricotta instead of cheddar. The ricotta gave it a wonderful creamy texture. It needed the full hour to bake, and then I let it sit in the oven for ten minutes without the foil while we set table. Really good dish!

    Wow! This was my first time making a strata, and this recipe was so delicious and easy, and was not soggy one bit. I made it before hand and served it for Christmas breakfast. I put red peppers, green peppers, sausage, and onions in it. The whole family loved it - this one's a keeper!
