- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 3 (1-ounce) squares semisweet chocolate
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
How to Make It
Combine butter and chocolate in a heavy saucepan; cook over low heat until chocolate melts. Add milk, sugar, and syrup; bring mixture to a boil, and cook 2 1/2 minutes.
Remove from heat, and cool 5 minutes. Add vanilla; stir well. Beat on high speed of electric mixer for 10 minutes or until mixture reaches spreading consistency.
