Yield: 4 servings
Community Recipe from

  • 8 ounce(s) rotini pasta
  • 8 ounce(s) mozzarella cheese cubed
  • 1 pint(s) cherry tomatoes halved
  • 5 whole(s) basil leaves chopped
  • 1/4 cup(s) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon(s) balsamic vinegar

  1. Preparation:

  2. 1. In a pot of boiling water cook the pasta according to package instructions- a little on the firm side. Drain and rinse with cold water, let drain for a few minutes

  3. 2. Prepare the dressing by mixing olive oil, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar, and pepper to taste

  4. 3. Have prepared ingredients ready in separate bowls

  5. 4. Spoon a 2 tablespoons of dressing into the bottom of each mason jar

  6. 5. Layer on top of the dressing (in this order) pasta, cherry tomatoes, and mozzarella

  7. 6. Cover each jar with a top and shake before serving- this will distribute the dressing evenly over the salad
