My late sister in law's recipe for simple, but very moist stuffing

  • 8 cup(s) stale breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 teaspoon(s) pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon(s) sage
  • 2 cup(s) celery chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup(s) onions finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup(s) butter
  • 2 cup(s) chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup(s) vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs


  1. Combine 1st 4 ingredients in large bowl. Set aside. Combine next 3 ingredients in medium saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and add to bread . Stir in broth, oil, eggs, mixing well. Pour into 3 quart greased pan. Bake @ 375 degrees for 45 minutes uncovered
