  • 3 cup(s) flour
  • 2 teaspoon(s) ginger
  • 2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1 baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) cloves
  • 1 cup(s) butter
  • 1 cup(s) granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 15 ounce(s) pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup(s) molasses
  • 3 cup(s) confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup(s) sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon(s) grated orange zest


  1. In meadium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cloves. Using an electric mixer, beat 1 cup butter and the sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, pumpkin and molasses. Reduce mixer and and add the flour mixture. Bake 350 degrees

  2. Beat confections sugar, sour cream and remaining tbsp butter in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in orange zest. Refrigerate the frosting until stiff and spreadable.
