  • 1 Zest from 1 orange
  • 1 cup(s) Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup(s) Butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup(s) Toasted almonds
  • 1.5 cup(s) All purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup(s) Cornmeal
  • 1.5 teaspoon(s) Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon(s) Salt


  1. Mix orange zest with sugar with fingers,
  2. In mixer cream butter and blend with sugar, add eggs and whip for 30 sec
  3. Add vanilla and almond extract
  4. Mix dry ingredients then add to butter and blend
  5. Add almonds
  6. Turn onto board and form into two logs
  7. Bake on parchment paper for 20 minutes, turn oven down to 300
  8. Cool for 30 minutes then slice, bake for 15 minutes on each side then cool
