Old Fashioned Egg Custard Pie

Makes one 9" pie plus a bit extra

  • 1 cup(s) sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup(s) milk
  • 1 cup(s) half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoon(s) butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon(s) flour
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Sugar
  • 1 9-inch pie shell unbaked


  1. Beat 1 cup sugar with eggs until creamy. Beat in milk and half & half, melted butter, vanilla and nutmeg. Combine 1 tsp sugar with 1 tsp flour and sprinkle evenly over the pie shell BEFORE filling. Preheat oven to 350 F., pour custard into pie shell and bake about 45 minutes, until firm.
