Cook Time:

  • 1 package(s) Yeast
  • 1 cup(s) Milk
  • 1/4 cup(s) Butter
  • 1/2 cup(s) Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • 2 whole(s) Eggs
  • 5 cup(s) Flour

  1. Soften yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water. Scald (not boil) milk, and add butter, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add enough flour to mixture to make thick. Add yeast, water, and slightly beaten eggs. Beat well. Add more flour to make soft dough. Turn on floured board and knead until satiny (at least 10 minutes). Note, the more kneading the better texture. Place dough in a greased bowl and cover with moist towel and let rise at room temp 2 hours or until doubled. When dough is light, punch down and shape into rolls. Let rise until doubled, 30-45 minutes. Bake in preheated oven at 370 for 15-20 minutes. Makes 20-25 rolls. Double recipe for crowd.
