Irish Soda Bread

Felicia Moore's recipe. Very good, moist. Great toasted.

  • 4 cup(s) flour
  • 3 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 quart(s) buttermilk
  • 1/2 box(es) raisins
  • 1/2 cup(s) caraway seeds
  • 1/2 cup(s) sugar
  • 1/3 teaspoon(s) salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350'.
  2. Combine flour, powder and soda. Sift. Add egg, buttermilk and stir. Stir in rest of ingredients.
  3. Bake in loaf pan (lightly greased) for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out dry.
