  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 1 cup(s) crisco, melted
  • 1 cup(s) dark molasses
  • 5 cup(s) flour
  • 1 tablespoon(s) ginger
  • 1 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 cup(s) sugar


  1. Mix dry ingredients except sugar and set aside. Mix crisco, sugar and dark molasses. Stir in 4 c flour mix, the mix in the rest with your hands. Add water a few drops at a time if needed. Roll out 1/4 in thick and cut into house pieces. Bake 13-15 min at 375F. Makes 2-3 houses.
