Icebox Rolls

Easy yeast roll from Grandma Gladys Guinnane

  • 1 package(s) yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt q
  • 2 cup(s) lukewarm water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup(s) sugar
  • 6 cup(s) flour
  • 4 tablespoon(s) vegetable oil


  1. Put flour in bowl. Make a hole in center and add all other ingredients after they have been mixed together. Knead well and put in grease bowl to let rise. Put in refrigerator. Not necessary to refrigerate before shaping, rising and baking.

  2. Remove from refrigerator. Shape dough into rolls, buns, etc. Let rise until double. Bake at 375 degrees 12 minutes or until golden brown.
