Hot Spiced Fruit Tea

Kathryn’s hot tea recipe tastes great on a brisk fall afternoon.

  • 3 quart(s) boiling water
  • 3 1-quart tea bags
  • 1 2-inch stick cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon(s) whole cloves
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cup(s) sugar
  • 1 cup(s) orange juice
  • 1/4 cup(s) plus 2 tablespoons lemon juice


  1. Pour boiling water over tea bags; cover. Let stand 5 minutes. Discard bags.

  2. Combine tea, spices, sugar and juices in a large Dutch oven. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Discard spices.
