  • 1 pint(s) Milk Scalded
  • 3/4 cup(s) butter
  • 1 cup(s) Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • 6 cup(s) Flour
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • 1 ounce(s) Yeast
  • 1/2 Lemon rind


  1. Combine four, sugar, yeast and 1 tsp sugar 1/2 cup milk. Add butter sugar salt to rest of milk, then eggs, stir in yeast & some flour, kneed, continue adding flower until mixture is satin smooth.

  2. Let dough raise to double size, punch down, cut into 2 parts roll out into 1/4" thick cover with filling, roll like jelly roll, form circle, cut and twist cuts into butterfly tea ring style.

  3. Let rise again bake 375 till golden brown, ice with white icing, garnish w/candied cherries

  4. Filling: brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, pecans, raisins
