Broiled Nutty Apples

  • 4 Apples
  • 4 teaspoon(s) Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) Nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • 2 tablespoon(s) maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup(s) chopped Walnuts


  1. Set the broiler to medium-high heat w the rack at least 4 inches from the heat source. Halve apples and scoop out seeds, rub halves with oil and put them cut side down on a rimmed backing sheet, Broil until the skins are blistered and you can pierce w a fork... 3 to 8 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, combine spices and salt in a bowl. Turn apples over, sprinkle w spice mixture and drizzle w syrup. Broil cut side up until apples are golden and tender - 2 to 3 minutes. Sprinkle w nuts and broil 1 more minute. Serve warm or at room temperature.
