Baked Broccoli with wine sauce

  • 2 pound(s) broccoli fresh
  • 1/2 cup(s) butter
  • 1/4 cup(s) flour
  • 1 cup(s) milk
  • 1/2 cup(s) broccoli water
  • 1/2 cup(s) white wine
  • 1/2 cup(s) blanched almonds
  • 1/2 cup(s) any cheese to taste grated
  • dash(es) paprika


  1. Cook broccoli in 1 inch of boiling water, about 10 mins. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the water. Melt butter in a medium saucepan, add flour and stir approx. 3 mins. Add milk and water stirring constantly until thick. Remove from heat. Stir in wine, almonds and add salt and pepper to taste. Place broccoli in 9x13 glass baking dish. Pour cream sause over broccoli and sprinkle with cheese. Bake 350* till bubbly. Maybe frozen before hand.
