  • 1/2 loaf crusty french bread, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 lb grated swiss cheese
  • 1/2 lb grated jack cheese
  • 1 cup crumbled ham
  • 8 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 minced green onions
  • 1/2 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Topping:
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese


  1. Butter 9 x 13 pan. Line with the bread chunks and drizzle melted butter over it all. Layer the cheese and meat. Beat eggs and all of the other ingredients, except the topping, and pour over the bread, meat and cheese mixture. Cover with foil and refrigerate over night.

  2. Remove from the fridge about 30 minutes before baking. Bake covered 1 hour at 325 degrees. Remove and cool slightly, mix sour cream and parmesan over the top. Bake 10 minutes longer. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
