Royal Icing

Royal Icing

  • Yield: 1 serving ( Serving Size: 2 - 2 1/2 cups )

Ingredients

  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1 pound(s) (3 cups) confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) cream of tartar

Preparation

Place all of the ingredients in a medium bowl and with an electric mixer on low speed beat until blended.

Turn mixer to high speed and beat for 7-10 minutes, until icing is the consistency of a stiff meringue. Icing should be thin enough to spread and thick enough to hold its shape.
