Carmelized Spiced Pecans

Carmelized Spiced Pecans

These pecans are yummy and not overly sugared. They go well on salads, on desserts, or as a snack. Choose a spice that you like! I've tried cayenne, or other peppers for a fun flavor. But I like cinnamon, allspice, or five spice too, and that can be delicious.

  • Yield: 1 serving

  • 1/2 cup(s) Each, brown and raw sugar
  • 3/4 cup(s) Water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) Or to taste, spice of your choice

Boil sugar and water 10 minutes, or until thickened. Add spice. Put nuts in a large heatproof bowl. Pour syrup over nuts, coating all.

Spread nuts over a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan. Bake in 250 degree oven, stirring every 10 minutes until dried
