Bake the cake according to the directions on the package, then let it cool for ten minutes. Blow on it to speed up the process.
Using the end of a wooden spoon, make small holes all over the surface of the cake. Heat the caramel topping, then pour it into the holes. After it's nice and cool, top the cake with whipped topping, then sprinkle the candy and cherries on top.
