Apple Brown Betty

Ingredients

  • 4 cup(s) apples chopped
  • 1/4 cup(s) orange juice
  • 1 cup(s) sugar
  • 3/4 cup(s) flour sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • 1 dash(es) salt
  • 1/2 cup(s) butter

Preparation

Mound apples in buttered 9" pie plate; sprinkle w/ orange juice. combine sugar, flour, spices and salt; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly and sprinkle over apples.

Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until aples are tender and topping is crisp.
