I love meatballs! They are so easy and I like that you can use similar base ingredients and switch up the flavors with some simple add-ins. These turned out a bit spicy which was a great compliment to the cole-slaw. I bought frozen pre-baked French bread loaves and just heated them in the oven prior to loading them up with the meatballs and broiling. I served this alongside some cheesy skin-on potatoes mashed with broccoli.

I've been making CL recipes since the Oct 2010 issue (new subscriber!), working my way through each issue, and I have to say that this is THE best recipe I've made so far! All of the flavors just go together so well. The bonus is that it's quick and easy, too! YUM!

We thought this was very bland.

A friend of mine wanted a little one on one cooking lesson and this was the perfect recipe for such an evening. The dish came together easy and would be perfect for a newbie in the kitchen. The spice of the meatballs was a great compliment to the slaw. I used the sub rolls called for, but it would be good with any bread I think. Definitely a great, quick meal, and a winner for the sandwich lover!

I thought this was a great recipel. The meatballs were a bit dry, I'll try something a bit different next time. It came together fast and I liked the coleslaw flavor. My husband was disappointed as he thought it would be more like a Reuben and couldn't find that flavor at all.

This was ludicrously quick and easy. Since ground turkey can be dry, I wouldn't serve these meatballs on their own but the melted cheese plus thousand island dressing made dryness a non-issue. I forgot to add the garlic so I felt the coriander dominated the spices - next time I'll be more careful with the spice mix. This will become a go-to recipe for me - it's so easy and pretty tasty too!

These were excellent! The seasonings in the meat went so well with the Swiss and slaw. I used more Thousand Island than called for, as the meat was a tad dry (even though I cooked them on the stove top rather than broil them). This would even be good with sauerkraut and Thousand Island on top, rather than coleslaw mix, but we loved it as it was. I will definitely make this again: easy, cheap, quick and delicious.

Loved these sandwiches!! The meatballs were zesty - spiced perfectly and the coleslaw with the dressing was cool - a wonderful combination. Meatballs were a little dry though, so it was definately worth the extra 30 calories to add another tablespoon of dressing!!

We thought this was quite good! Based on previous reviews, I did make a few changes to help keep the meatballs moist (1 egg, breadcrumbs from the inside of 2 of the buns, about 3-4 Tablespoons of milk), but made 15 meatballs and only used 3 per sandwich to offset added calories. I would definitely make this again.
