  • 1/4 cup fat-free cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon shredded fresh basil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 4 (3/4-ounce) slices reduced-calorie whole wheat bread, toasted
  • 6 ounces cooked turkey breast, sliced
  • 1/2 medium avocado, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup alfalfa sprouts


  1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring well. Spread cheese mixture evenly on 2 bread slices. Top evenly with sliced turkey and remaining 4 ingredients. Top with remaining 2 bread slices.
  2. Tip: Avocados are a great source of monounsaturated fat--a type of fat that appears to help prevent heart disease.
