Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

1/2 small onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano
1/4 cup red wine
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

Preparation

Sauté onion and garlic in hot oil over medium heat 5 to 7 minutes or until tender. Add tomatoes, wine, and red pepper; simmer 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Add salt and basil.
