Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup beef broth
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

  1. Melt butter in a small saucepan; whisk in flour, and cook, whisking constantly, 1 minute. Gradually whisk in broth and tomato sauce; reduce heat, and simmer until thickened. Whisk in salt and pepper.
