Tomato Basil Bread Sticks

Tomato Basil Bread Sticks

  • Yield: 1 serving


  • 1/2 cup(s) Warm water
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1/2 cup(s) Tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoon(s) Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • 3 cup(s) Bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon(s) Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon(s) Dried minced onion
  • 2 teaspoon(s) Dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) Garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoon(s) Active dry yeast
  • Egg wash
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1 tablespoon(s) Water
  • Coarse salt


Prepare dough in Automatic Breadmaker using the dough setting. When the unit signals the cycle is completed, remove dough. Divide dough into 20 pieces. Stretch and roll each not a 15" rope. Place on 2 greased baking sheets. Cover with a clean cloth and let rise for 20 minutes.

To make egg wash: combine egg and water in a small dish. Brush each breadstick with egg mixture. Sprinkle with salt.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes 20 breadsticks.
