Tiny and Lucille's Fig Preserves

Ingredients

  • 1 quart(s) fresh figs
  • 4 cup(s) sugar
  • baking soda

Preparation

POUR water over figs to cover. Sprinkle liberal amount of baking soda over figs. Let soak 1 hour.

DRAIN and rinse figs. Put figs and sugar in large pot. Bring to a boil and let simmer until thickened. About 2 hours.

POUR figs and syrup into pint size sterilized jars and seal.
