Husband LOVED it. I'm a vegetarian so didn't even try it. Tossed everything in the crockpot and 4-5 hours later it was done. Froze half for another day. Didn't have picante sauce onhand, so substituted taco sauce. Served it over whole wheat noodles.

I cook often for volunteer firefighters and this recipe will be the one that I use for the next meeting, it sounds hearty enough that the men will enjoy it and the ingredients are inexpensive enough as not to break the bank since there is a budget per meal. So I will come back and let you know how it goes. I am going to try too on my husband who tells me "You have not cooked a bad meal yet" we've only been married 3 years so there is still time... : >)

This was SOOOOO GOOD!!! Everyone loved it!! I changed things up a bit. Had hamburger instead of beef tips, used canned corn instead of frozen. Added some other spices too. Everyone loved it!!! My friend's coming over after he gets off shift. We'll see how he likes it.
