Just starting to use tempeh and this recipe makes me want to try more. Pretty simple to make, and I think could be modified by adding cheese, but will be making again.

I prepared this with Wild Rice as my grocer didn't carry Tempeh. Came out a bit chewy, but tasted alright. Not exactly a sloppy joe, but definately needs a firm bun. Perhaps it would have a better texture with a softer rice, such as brown.

Needed a lot more seasoning!! Added garlic, ketchup, sugar, and vinegar mix at the end to add flavor. Otherwise it would have been to bland. Also, I think it would be better with more onion, but I love onion.

I would not make this again based on the current recipe, but I will try the concept with other flavoring. My expectation for sloppy joe is a little sweet, a little savory, and this had no sweet. I salvaged it by adding some bottled barbecue sauce. It's a good idea for a healthy vegetarian entree though.

Wow! I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but I have to say this exceeded my expectations. Being a vegetarian, I have never cooked with Tempeh. I thought this would be a great way to start and I was right! I only had an 8oz package of Tempeh, so I basically halved the recipe. I also added some white vinegar to the coleslaw, and added some BBQ sauce to the Tempeh mixture after it was off of the flame. I enjoyed this, and I cannot wait to make it again! Great recipe.
