I agree with HollsHB, this was very bland. I also thought chicken, spinach, basil, cheese, what's not to like. It just didn't have much taste. Probably the only thing that might have saved it was having the red pepper to blend in with it while eating. It took too long to make for what it was. Wondering if a different type of cheese would have helped. Needed more seasoning. Nobody in my family liked this. There are so many posts on recipe reviews that say I followed the recipe except I added this, changed that, etc. might as well make up your own recipe....

This was a great dish. I cook for a very discerning family of five and everyone loved it. Needed another 5 or 10 minutes in the oven to heat throughly. Like the previous reviewer, needed more salt. Thanks for a great recipe.

Trust me. This was horrible. I am an avid cook. I love trying new things. I "thought" this was going to be great. It was like something you would get at a cafeteria of a prison. I followed the recipe exactly. I used high quality cheese. I thought the sauce was going to be like a fondue (which I love). But no. The inside was ok. Very bland. Even my husband was not a fan, so it wasnt just me. Save your time and money - do not make this.

Based on the previous review, I almost didn't make this dish. BUT...I purchased the ingredients prior to reading any reviews, and I couldn't justify letting them go to waste. Also, I figured there had to be some kind of limit to how disgusting chicken, spinach, and cheese could really be. To the delight of myself and my family, we found the finished product to be flavorful and quite tasty. It was well received by everyone - and trust me - this is not a crowd likely to withhold criticism. I will say, however, that there was a lot of "seasoning to taste" happening during preparation. I used a bit more salt than called for, and I didn't have seasoned pepper (I used 1/4 tsp each of white and black pepper plus a tiny bit of cayenne instead). Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly. I would definitely recommend giving this one a try!
