Ummm, am I the only one who can't figure out how to put the darn recipe together?? Forget about the glaze and filling. I get that. But the dough recipe seems to be lacking BIG TIME. Am I supposed to mix all the ingredients together, including the baking soda with the yeast mixture???? I must be missing something!!! HELP!!!

In the recipe as written online, this part is missing: Step 2: Insert short plastic dough blade; add 1/2 c flour; process 2 min. Add mashed sweet potatoes, next 7 ingredients & 4 c flour; process 2 min. Add remaining 1 c flour, etc. Filling has cinnamon. Excellent recipe with all info.

We love these! We can't stop eating and sharing them. Everyone wants the recipe. I put all the ingredients for the dough in this order in the bread machine: water, potato, egg, buttermilk, sugar, butter, flour, orange rind, yeast, salt, soda. When done then turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and roll dough out.

I added all the remaining wet ingredients to the yeast mixture after the 5 minute wait. My first batch was really wet and I added almost double the flour, but they were still awesome! This is my second time making them, the flour was much closer to the recipe, I believe it was the sweet potato that threw it off. I also added pumpkin pie spice to the dough (1 t.). Another help was lining my baking sheet with non-stick grill foil, so when it was done baking I just pulled the foil up and lifted the whole batch out of the pan, no inverting needed.
