The cakes were really bland even with the salsa. The recipe really could have used some extra spices or flavors. We did add sour cream to the top of the cakes which added a nice taste.

These were really good. I think I put them a little too long in the processor, b/c they could have used a little more texture, but mine is a bit small and had to do in batches. So just make sure not to overprocess. The salsa was fresh and good too. This took longer than 40 mins, even though I was doing a double batch, I think it still would have take longer. I don't love how they never take prep work into account with these. But overall, I made these for a book club and everyone raved.

We put the patties in a pita with the salsa, lettuce and a dollop of sour cream. I would recommend more spice. Took longer than I expected, but over all will make the recipe again..

Delicious! We'll definitely make them again.

Delicious! Nothing bland about this! Pairs perfectly w the salsa. All 4 of my kids loved this (minus the onion).

Texture-wise, this was like a big glob of hummus. Very dry texture and not as much flavor as I had hoped for. Also quite a bit of work for a weeknight meal. I wouldn't make it again.

Less than enthusiastic about these and probably won't make again. They didn't fall apart on me, but I made smaller cakes so maybe that helped. DD thought they were a little like corn bread cakes and texture-wise, they were. But the flavors were lacking - too much chickpea, not enough sweet potato.

It was a little bland, but recipe has potential. My cakes fell apart when turning, I am not sure why. I agree the salsa made it taste very good. Next time maybe not seeding the jalapeño, a little additional salt would make it tastier. I was not sure it was worth all the work.

We enjoyed this with some hot tomato soup on a cold night. I agree, a bit of work but the food processor made it much easier. I would make smaller pattys as they did fall apart and also add maybe some chili powder/cumin and/ or paprika to up the flavor

For me, these fell apart and were not very good. It was a lot of work and mess for the result. I am an experienced cook and followed the recipe.

Cakes where just a little bland but the salsa made up for it. If anyone has suggestions let me know! Agree its time consuming but still would make it again. Great meatless entree!
