Yield: about 3/4 cup
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon bacon drippings
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup commercial sour cream
- Combine egg and drippings in a small ceramic saucepan; beat well with a wire whisk. Place over medium heat; cook until thickened slightly, beating constantly with wire whisk.
- Dissolve sugar in vinegar; gradually add to egg mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Cool slightly, and fold in sour cream.
