Sweet-And-Sour Dressing

Yield about 3/4 cup


  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon bacon drippings
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup commercial sour cream

How to Make It

  1. Combine egg and drippings in a small ceramic saucepan; beat well with a wire whisk. Place over medium heat; cook until thickened slightly, beating constantly with wire whisk.

  2. Dissolve sugar in vinegar; gradually add to egg mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Cool slightly, and fold in sour cream.
