Sweet and Savory Pita Sandwich

  • 1 pound(s) ground turkey
  • 16 ounce(s) can whole kernel corn
  • 1/3 cup(s) raisins
  • 1/3 cup(s) walnuts coarsely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon(s) moroccan harissa hot chili paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 tablespoon(s) honey
  • 2 cup(s) water
  • 8 whole wheat pita pocket halves


  1. Brown and crumble ground turkey in large skillet. Add corn, raisins, and walnuts; mix well over medium low heat. Add water, honey, salt and harissa, mix well. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer gently until all water is absorbed and meat is tender. Serve in warmed pita pockets, garnish with yogurt if desired. Yields 4 servings
