Ingredients
- 1/2 cup(s) sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) each cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
- 8 ounce(s) mixed nuts
- 1 large egg white
Preparation
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Combine the sugar, spices and salt in a bowl; reserve.
- 2. In a separate bowl, toss the nuts with the egg white to coat; then toss with the sugar-and-spice mixture.
- 3. Spread the nuts in a single layer on a baking sheet, separating them as much as possible; bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven. Use a metal spatula to break the buts apart, then return to the oven for 5 minutes to dry them thoroughly. Remove from the oven and shake the pan to break up the nuts. Let them sit at room temperature for 1 hour to cool completely and harden.
