Strawberry Buttercream Frosting

    The cake that goes with this recipe was outstanding, very moist and yummy- This frosting, however was way too sweet. I thought I was going to love it when I first tasted it, but both my husband and I thought it was too much...makes your teeth hurt. I would make the cake again with a cream cheese or whipped cream based frosting.

    This frosting is AMAZING!!! The only drawback is that the butter will 'break' because of the juice in the berries. I halve the butter and use cream cheese in it's place and I make sure everything is super cold before I whip it (including the bowl and beaters. You can't add extra berries than the recipie calls for without additional sugar and butter or cream cheese. I also add a touch of vanilla. I have made this cake and frosting several times and it gets RAVE reviews.

    I love the taste of this recipe, but my frosting is too runny. I added more powdered sugar, but it is still too runny? How can i fix this?

    This is a very good recipe but i personally would have used a little less sugar and a little more strawberry bits. But all in all it was a good recipe :)
