    it was well balanced for flavor I served it with the grilled cheese from the same issue and it was excellent and very quick

    We liked this. Changed the dressing by using walnut oil instead of olive. Very pretty presentation, nice surprise to folks not expecting the berries. Served outdoors as first course to CL's pasta with zucchini & almonds.

    Thought it was good, although not as good as some strawberry-spinach salads I've had. I used a Walla Walla sweet onion instead of Vidalia. The basil was almost a little overpowering. That said, we finished the whole big bowl!

    This is absolutely delicious and a welcome change from the usual boring salad. I made it two weeks ago and it got such a rousing reception from my family that I'm making it again tonight to accompany a Garlic-Herb roasted chicken!

    This was so easy to make and really tasty. My husband and I added a bit of leftover feta cheese which gave it a nice touch too. I may soak the strawberries for a few minutes in the dressing next time to give them a little more of the balsamic flavor. Would also be really good with some sliced almonds.

    Very good salad. I think it would be better with a softer green like spinach and blue or feta cheese would be a nice addition.
