- 7 cup(s) water, divided
- 1 cup(s) granulated sugar
- 1 pound(s) strawberries
- 1/2 cup(s) fresh basil, tightly packed
- 1 cup(s) fresh lemon juice
- Combine 1 cup water and sugar in medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook until sugar dissolves, stirring frequently. Meanwhile, hull and quarter strawberries. Add strawberries and basil to sugar mixture. Simmer 5 minutes; remove from heat and let steep until cooled. Once cooled, strain mixture to remove solids. Place strawberry mixture in 2-quart pitcher. Add lemon juice and 6 cups water. Mix well. Garnish with lemon slices, strawberries and fresh basil leaves.
