Steamed Crabs

Yield 6 to 8 servings


  • 1 quart water
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons pepper
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper
  • 2 teaspoons coriander seeds
  • 3 to 4 dozen live blue crabs

How to Make It

  1. Combine water, vinegar, mustard, pepper, and coriander in a large stockpot with a tight fitting lid, stirring until well combined. Place a rack in the bottom of the stockpot, and bring mixture to a boil. Add crabs; cover and steam 20 minutes or until crabs turn bright red in color.

  2. Remove crabs to a large platter; serve with Cocktail Sauce.
