Steak Salad with Creamy Ranch Dressing

Easy enough to make, but I was hoping for a real ranch dressing recipe when I clicked on this one. I hate eating store bought dressing- too many chemicals ;-{.

I think we'd rate this 3.5 stars. I made the following modifications: added carrots, used creamy italian dressing and romaine lettuce, grilled the steak on the BBQ. The steak was a lot spicier than I expected, which was nice. I'm not sure creamy italian was the right dressing...although I'm not sure ranch would be, either. I suppose this salad can work with whatever dressing you want, although I suppose they suggest ranch to temper the spiciness of the steak. This would be a very good weeknight meal that is quick and easy.

Delicious! Very simple recipe -- great for a weeknight. The rub was really tasty. Didn't bother to make the homemade croutons. Keeping the steak medium rare helped enhance its juiciness.
