I made this for Thanksgiving and it got rave reviews. Instead of boiling the veggies, I sauted the squash and onions in butter. VERY VERY good.

When I saw this I had to make it. The problem was I had never even bought squash let alone cook it. I really didn't even like squash. Now this is one of my favorite dishes. It's so easy to make. Every one at Thanksgiving dinner loved it. Can't wait to make it again.

My sister-n-law made this for a family get-together. It was all gone at the end of the meal. Everybody raved about it! I am going to try it myself because it was soo good.

I used light sour cream instead of mayo and it was delicious!

I had Italian style bread crumbs so I used that instead of regular bread crumbs. This dish was delicious. Thanks for the recipe.

Have any of you used frozen squash when making this?

I used light mayo and Boar's head 3 pepper cheese instead of cheddar, the spicy cheese worked well with the squash. My teenagers truly liked it. That's high praise.

Made this for Christmas 2012 and it was a huge hit! I sauteed the squash and onion with parsley, basil, and butter in a large skillet. Like another user, I also substituted the 1 cup mayo for 1/2 cup mayo and 1/2 cup sour cream. I also sprinkled crumbled ritz crackers on top. I found that it needed to cook at least 45 minutes. It was very good, I will definitely be making it again!

I made this just as the recipe says, except that I used 1/2 mayonnaise and 1/2 sour cream. It really was a delicious casserole, and will definitely make it again. Made a really large amount, so could cut in half.
