Spinach and Ricotta Pizza

    YUM! I made these pizzas on personal boboli crusts instead of the homemade dough. The pizza sauce is so easy and very flavorful! I used a bit more garlic than what was called for and probably more cheese...Super tasty and just as good the next day!!

    This was extremely good and will become one of my regular pizzas- I made the homemade dough and sauce and couldn't have been happier with the way it turned out. I found fresh ricotta at Whole Foods and added a few torns sprigs of basil from my garden. The dough was a bit stickier than the usual pizza dough that I make but this was remedied with extra flour. I would defintely serve this to guests with pride.

    This is an UNBELIEVABLY GOOD home-made pizza! We absolutely loved it and will make it again and again! I look forward to trying other toppings too!

    Disclaimer: I love pizza of any kind so this review may be biased! haha. I made a whole wheat pizza dough using my bread machine instead of the dough listed in this recipe, but I did make the sauce and the pizza as otherwise suggested. I added crushed red pepper to the sauce and then, concerned it wouldn't be spicy enough for me, added cayenne, which was a little too much, but still very tasty. I loved the hidden spinach and I've never had ricotta on a pizza before. It was VERY good! This is a definite make again & again recipe.

    This pizza is GREAT! My mom always asks me to make it for her, and we love it. I go to Walmart and get fresh whole wheat pizza dough and easily enough just use pizza sauce in a jar. We usually grill up some chicken and put it on there too for some extra protein. Definitely our go to pizza!

    A solid recipe to be sure. I made calzones instead by dividing the dough into four rounds, then folding over each half after topping (I omitted the romas and added mushrooms and red pepper to the spinach and ricotta mix). I also brushed the dough with a little egg wash and dusted each calzone with cornmeal. It took about 15 minutes for the calzones to cook in a preheated 450 degree oven. Served with a little warmed sauce on top. My husband and I both enjoyed the hearty, rustic nature of this dish.

    This was awesome! A little time consuming just because the dough has to rest for an hour, but the good news is that you can make ahead of time and refrigerate or freeze. The only thing I would change is sprinkle a little salt or maybe garlic salt on the pizza before baking. Otherwise, it's great!

    Awesome! Made this for Date Night! Bottle white wine and it went over very well.
