Served this with Parmesan Catfish (from '84 SL) and it was wonderful. Made just a directed except I used Duke's mayo instead of Hellman's. For the best results, make well ahead and chill for at least 8 hours. The first night, it was fairly ordinary, but the second night (and 3rd ) the flavors had blended and it was as good as any I've ever had. Do not worry about the pepper. This was very mild and you can even add a bit more kick if you like it hot. Will definitely make again
Spicy Tartar Sauce
This recipe goes with Hushpuppy Battered Catfish Nuggets With Spicy Tartar Sauce
Yield: Makes about 1 cup
Ingredients
- 1 cup HELLMANN'S Real Mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sliced jalapeño peppers, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon finely minced onion
- 1 garlic clove, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 pinch MORTON Salt
Preparation
- Stir together all ingredients in a medium bowl. Cover and chill until ready to serve.
