Spicy Sesame-Nut Mix

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg white
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 4 teaspoons dried rubbed sage
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups salted peanuts
  • 1 3/4 cups pecan halves
  • 1 cup pine nuts

Preparation

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 300°. In a small bowl, whisk egg white until frothy; whisk in honey, sesame seeds, sage, cinnamon, cayenne, and salt. Add nuts and stir. Divide mixture between 2 large nonstick or parchment-lined baking pans and spread into an even layer.
  2. 2. Bake, stirring often with a wide spatula, until nuts are golden and fragrant, 20 to 25 minutes. To prevent sticking, turn mixture often with spatula as it cools. Serve warm or cool.
